The action on the muscle is never permanent. Facial lines are improved by reducing the action of the muscles that cause them with wrinkle injections.

Will the lines on my face be worse if I stop having future treatments of wrinkle injections?
If you do not have any further treatments your face simply return to its pre-wrinkle injection appearance. However, the more treatments you have the less lined your face will be should you completely stop having any further wrinkle injections. This is because by maintaining your wrinkle injection treatments your skin is able to rejuvenate over lines and wrinkles and the longer the muscles creating them are weakened the better the reduction and appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I have had Microdermabrasion, and my face was very red afterwards and was unable to return to work that day. Is that right?
This can certainly be the case with some traditional Microdermabrasion techniques. At GiGi London-MA we use a unique dermabrasion technique using natural salt. The salt is delivered using positive pressure as opposed to the vacuum effect used in other dermabrasion systems. This means that your skin is not left red or sore following treatment, but instead you will have clean and positively glowing skin ready to carry on with the rest of your day.

Does smoking damage my skin?
Yes. Smoking causes premature ageing of the skin and causes other serious life threatening diseases.
Are there any side effects?
The side effects are minimal and all are temporary. The injections may sting very slightly but they are not painful. Other side effects are minimal redness and swelling at the injection sites that usually disappears after an hour or so. There is also a small risk of bruising at the injections sites. You may experience transient headache and numbness at the treatment sites.
There is a very small risk of eyelid drooping (ptosis) and slight puffiness following treatment. In the unlikely event that this occurs, it is always temporary. At GiGi London-MA we have not had a single incidence of ptosis. After several treatments, very rarely some patients become resistant to wrinkle injections and it no longer works effectively. This is one of the reasons for not over-treating a patient.
